The Quarry Exhibit Hall was opened on June 1, 1958 built to surround and protect the famous Carnegie Quarry and its thousands of fossil bones exposed by decades of paleontological excavation. The building was an early, precedent-setting example of the new, modern style embraced by the Park Service as part of Mission 66.
